“Excellent physical therapist. Have full use after shoulder surgery thanks to Bryan. Very professional, caring, and knowledgeable. Hope I don't need therapy again but if I do, it's definitely Optimize Therapy and Fitness."-G.S.
“Optimize is still 5 star in my book. I took Bryan's Nutrition class, and learned so much about the foods I choose to put in my body and feed my family. The class is so convenient via Zoom! I looked forward to discussing my nutrition plan every week, and the plan was literally tailored for me! Bryan always had helpful tips, he is patient and is very well informed on all things nutrition and physical health. I lost 24 pounds in 24 weeks! I have never felt this good, I am hiking every weekend and I am much more energetic! I know what I have to do to continue losing the weight and keep it off. Everyone who knows me has noticed a difference, even in my skin from the foods I am eating. Thanks so much to Bryan and the Optimize gang! I am forever grateful!"-L.E.
“I would easily recommend Optimize Therapy and Fitness to my friends and family. Bryan was very knowledgeable in treating my 'frozen shoulder' issue and he took the time to describe and demonstrate every exercise. It was evident from my first visit that Bryan and Douglas genuinely care on a personal level about improving the well being of every client."-A.C.
“My physical therapy has been a great experience. Bryan has explained everything to me and he is very knowledgeable about his therapy. He is concerned about my pain, asks me how I am sleeping and how I am feeling at every session. He takes his time with me and truly makes me feel better. I would recommend Optimize Therapy without hesitation."-G.S.
“Optimize is great! Everyone is friendly and helpful. I came in with a shoulder injury and a lot of pain. Several weeks later and I have no pain and Bryan has taught me how to prevent future injury. I can’t recommend them enough!"-K.D.
“I love this place. Office is professional and inviting. The guys here are great. Really helping my knees get stronger. Give them a try. You won’t want to go anywhere else!"-L.R.R.
“Bryan Kreitlow was referred to me by my primary care physician, Sarah Zaheer with Centennial Medical Group. I woke up one morning and had severe neck pain. It was different from having a kink in my neck from sleeping in an uncomfortable position. I was hoping the pain would go away on its own, but it didn't, so Dr. Zaheer referred me to a physical therapist that was on the 2nd floor of her office. Dr. Zaheer is a great doctor so I trusted that she would refer me to a great physical therapist.
Since I never had physical therapy before, I didn't know what to expect, but Bryan made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked into his office. He is a genuinely nice person who really cares about his patients.
During my first session, I asked how many sessions would it take until I would feel better and he said eight. He was definitely right about that. I can now move my neck in all directions without feeling any discomfort or strain, which I couldn't do when I first walked in. I was feeling much better just after four weeks.
He always seem to run on schedule. He respects your time and does not keep you waiting. One day I decided to go in 5-10 minutes early just to watch and he still took me earlier.
I thought I would be done after a neck massage, but I was surprised to find out that I had to also do some full body exercises as a part of my physical therapy (I thought the rest of my body was fine? lol). I am pretty fit person usually who works out three times a week, but he had me doing some challenging moves. Although some stretches I couldn't do even if my life depended on it, it was still enjoyable (I just didn't let him know that at the time). It was a good stress reliever.
Whether you are looking for a physical therapist or a personal trainer, I highly recommend him for both, I couldn't say enough good things about him. I normally don't write reviews, but I am very grateful to have found him. I would give him 10 stars."-L.P.
“I came in after seeing the doctor next door for bad lower back pain. I threw away the ibuprofen and muscle relaxers recommend by doctor and followed Bryan's regime. Two weeks later no back pain and back to swimming. Still with Optimize working on shoulder and hip issues so I can start getting ready for next year's triathlon season. Great work team."-E.D.
“Bryan and his team are great. From my first appointment to my last they were very friendly, attentive, keep a clean office. Most importantly he got my lower back pain to go away in a very short amount of time. Bryan really listened to what my issues were concerning my pain. He was able to come up with a plan that focused on where I was in pain & with each weeks visit & "homework" (stretches I could do from home) my pain decreased dramatically & fast. I'm now pain free. So glad I went to Optimize Therapy."-K.B.
“I spent the entire holiday weekend with a lot of pain in my left shoulder, neck, left arm. It was bad enough that I contemplated having one of my grown children stand on my shoulder to see if I could gain some relief. Instead I got smart and reached out to Doug on Sunday and he replied later to say there was most definitely an opening in his schedule on Monday. I just left there an hour ago and I am truly amazed at just how much relief I got From the massage Doug gave to my shoulder. He listen to where I said the pain was and how it was moving on the left side. He asked questions to make sure he understood me and then got to work. I knew I would get some relief but I am amazed at just how much relief I have gotten this far. This place will listen to you, treat you and your symptoms not the corporate standard for your symptoms. This place will do everything to fit you in quickly if you are hurting greatly. They can provide you with the relief and healing you want and get you to a point of feeling stronger than you did when you first walked in. I highly recommend you give them a try!"-W.C.
“I can't say enough about Optimize Therapy and Fitness. I initially started physical therapy with Brian for my shoulder and it evolved to a fitness program. I have referred friends and family because I trust Doug and Brian's opinions and therapy plan. I feel stronger, and see results inside and out. Brian and Doug have been awesome and have helped me and my family through injuries and improving our physical fitness. If I could sing, I would sing Optimize praises. I will be forever grateful!"-M.E.
“He takes time to listen to your concerns about your overall health and apply a holistic approach to improve my physical health one step at a time. He also explains step by step, not only on how to optimize greater results for short term goals, but also to gain lasting results for the long term goals. VERY patient and non aggressive while treating and coaching me through my physical therapy. Definitely don’t have to ever worry about being turned into a pretzel or stretched too far beyond my physical limits! I’ve only had four sessions so far and starting to see the results already!!"-J.W.
“I highly recommend
Optimize Therapy. Bryan is the most amazing physical therapist I have ever
used. He put together a complete picture of my plantar fasciitis issues and
brought things to my attention that doctors had not mentioned. I have gotten a
great deal of pain relief from treatments with Bryan and am truly greatful for
his help, knowledge and kindness. He is a top notch professional!“–S.T.
“All around great
Practice. From the helpfulness and kindness of Vivian, to the knowledge and
dedication of Brian and Doug. They will do everything they can to help you get
back to better than before.”–A.D.
“The road to recovery
from dead-lifts. About a year ago my back was messed up via dead-lifts. For
anyone who has had back pain, you can understand my pain. I tried every
suggestion friends and family could suggest. I pretty much accepted that I
would not be doing dead-lifts ever again. By chance I stumbled on to the
Optimize Therapy web page when looking for back pain exercises. I visited the
office, and spoke with Douglas and having spoken to many physical therapists I
could tell he know what he was talking about. He was very supportive,
understanding and respectful of my time and pointed out that the office was
open until 7 pm for people who work late. He understood billing, billing
questions, was able to answer every question I had with detail. I liked what I
heard and made an appointment for the following week. The following week I went
for my first visit and met Bryan. It did not take long to see that Bryan was
very understanding of the issues associated with back pain. He listened, was
empathetic and incredibility compassionate. In my humble opinion compassion and
kindness, with a willingness to listen are just as good as any medicine. We
discussed what needed to be done, what suggestions he had, and most importantly
he explained that this would be a journey and not a sprint / quick fix. I am
incredibly fortunate and blessed to have found physical therapists who
understand their profession, are delightfully accommodating and are willing to
work with me to help me heal. If you have back pain, don’t give up, keep
moving, keep searching, and trust that things will get better. As with all my
reviews, I would challenge the reader not to take my word, but to find out for
themselves.”–Z.F.
“Bryan and Doug are the most knowledgeable, caring and professional therapists I’ve had experience with. I came to see Bryan having significant arthritic knee pain, and also, sciatica that I’d had on and off for 5 years following major back surgery. I found him to be exceptionally competent and caring, with the ability to give individual attention that is so important in the healing process. He worked with me to find the right combination of exercises to help with pain relief and increased strength. Bryan’s hands-on approach has helped me to improve so much that I’m virtually pain free on a daily basis. Coming to Optimize was the best decision I could have made. I have been in PT a number of times, and this has been the best experience by far. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of improving their physical condition.”–R.S.
“I fully endorse
optimize with Brian. I started going there for shoulder replacement therapy
however my back had been giving me fits. The exercises he’s working with me on
are helping. Don’t hesitate to go see Brian.”–L.M.
“My name is Jeri. Bryan
Kreitlow used to work as a physical therapist two blocks from my home. This was
very convenient. Over the summer, my IT band started to give me a significant
amount of pain. I was unable to sleep and had difficulty walking. After six
months of thinking it would work itself out, I decided to seek Bryan out. He
had started his own physical therapy and fitness business with Doug in Laurel,
which is about 30 minutes from where I live. It also was not convenient to the
Metro or a bus. I swallowed by pride and asked my husband to drive me there.
After only two sessions, I can sleep again and walk without excruciating pain.
Bryan certainly knows what he is doing. I trust him above most others. While I
don’t make public recommendations usually, if you are in need of physical
therapy, seek Bryan out and allow him to assist in your care.”–J.W.
“I came across Bryan at
Optimize Therapy because I live nearby and was looking for some PT for lower
back issues. He and his staff are the best. He’s a great guy who is talented at
his work and dedicated to making you get better. I never post things like this
– but I know so many people suffer from back pain and I highly recommend these
guys.”–R.R.
“I am a very busy
Teacher/High School Baseball coach and live a very active lifestyle. I recently
hurt my knee and was worried that I might have done enough damage to require
surgery. I finally made an appointment and Bryan took great care of me. He took
his time understanding and trying to determine the extent of my injury. It’s
been three weeks and I’m feeling much better. No surgery needed just some fine
tune adjustments to my stretching and exercise routine. I really do appreciate
the time and care I was given at Optimize Therapy and Fitness. I highly
recommend their services.”–C.J.
“I have been getting
occupational therapy from Doug since last September. I have a neurological
disease that is slowly destroying my nerves. In the beginning, Doug’s beginning
plan of treatment was to rebuild my hand/forearm strength and increase
something as simple as my grip in each hand. Now he has stepped me to the next
level of treatment which is monthly “maintenance” therapy sessions in
conjunction with personal training sessions twice a week with Bryan.— This plan
of treatment between the two, has provided an amazing increase in my strength
and flexibility while building my core strength, endurance and balance. I am
SOOOOO far from where I was when I started back in September!!!! Though I’ve
still a ways to go to reach MY GOAL wish. This practice cares so much about
helping their patients not just get “healed” but go beyond to healthy and
able-bodied and reach an overall balance of wellness!!
Had an OT appointment today with Doug. I walked in with pain from elbow to finger tips on both sides and tight/knotted muscles. Doug worked on both sides tip to elbow. Yes, it hurt but after an OT session with Doug I always feel better. Well, after today’s session I am actually feeling really great! It was a surprise to realize just how much pain and tightness I had been experiencing by realizing just how much better I felt when I left!!! It isn’t a shock that Doug IS THAT good at what he does, it is a shock at how much pain he removed from me today (and how much I allowed myself to endure)!!!
If you are in pain, feeling stiff and tightness in joints, unable to move as well as you used to, YOU NEED TO COME TO OPTIMIZE!!!!!!! They will listen to you explain your concerns and symptoms; not judge. They will ask questions to get to the root cause. They will ask what you can do, what you want from the therapy-your end goal. They will treat and adjust until they find what works for YOU! They aren’t giving you cookie cutter treatment. NO “treat-n-street” attitudes here. You get individualized attention; no “assembly line treatment for every patient” done here. They don’t leave you “hanging” when your insurance says you’ve reached your “medical maximum necessity”. They keep working with you to get you back to YOUR best, YOUR goal. The therapists will work with YOU to reach the best of YOU; not make YOU work with them.
What are you waiting for? Why live with the pain, stiffness, tightness, limited range of motion when you can get back to where you want to be? Corporate chains can provide a lot, but they’ll treat you more like a piece on an assembly line. Here you’ll get the personalized treatment and care YOU know YOU want! Give Optimize Therapy and Fitness a call! I guarantee it will be THE best call you’ll ever make!!!!”–W.C.
“Going here is one of
the greatest decisions I have ever made. Two months after starting Physical
Therapy at Optimize, I am completely pain free, back to playing hockey and my
back feels stronger than ever. Bryan is the man.”–E.R.
“I came to Optimize Therapy and Fitness with a rotator cuff shoulder injury. I came out of the ortho doc with a script for Naproxen and some physical therapy. This is an owner/operator practice, and the staff is highly motivated to ensure a good patient experience. The care is targeted, compassionate, and one on one. Within a few appointments with Bryan, the ever-present, radiating pain was gone. We continue to work on strengthening the supporting muscles of the rotator cuff. With time, I’m hopeful full use can be restored.
I appreciate Bryan’s personal training background and extensive PT experience. The exercises are challenging (incorporating yoga poses), and geared toward my overall health. In past PT experiences with other providers, at home exercises were commonly just isolated, static stretches.
The facility is large, well equipped, and spotless. It’s located just off of Rt. 29, close to the campus of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. They accept my BCBS insurance and I’ve had no issues with billing/authorizations. I highly recommend to friends and colleagues!”–C.A.
“My hand therapy started with Optimize in mid September 2017. My therapists name is Douglas Fischer, who is part owner and the hand specialist. With each session my hand improves along with the recommended exercises I do between each visit. Doug is very professional, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I would recommend Optimize to anyone who needs hand or physical therapy.”–D.M.
“I have been seeing
Bryan at Optimize since the day it opened, great place for therapy and a great
physical therapist. Bryan has worked on my ankle using massage, exercise
and most recently cool laser treatment. The cool laser treatment has
helped to decrease both pain and swelling. Bryan has been amazing, he takes time
to listen to his clients and use his skills to improve mobility. I would highly
recommend Optimize to everyone!”–K.T.
“Just had second session
for my shoulder injury. After all he did, I was able to leave with my pain
level down a LOT from when I walked in. I was able to go out for my usual
Saturday morning trail hikes pain free! I am confident to go back to Optimize
Therapy & Fitness to continue healing my shoulder. I highly recommend this
place!”–W.C.
“I’m very pleased to have Bryan Kreitlow as my Physical Therapist. I‘ve had 3 spinal surgeries within three years. Needless to say Physical Therapy is required. Bryan is professional and an excellent therapist and I recommend him highly.”–J.O.
“Doug was my bright light of optimism during my recovery process. He was very effective in helping me progress with my therapy. But he went farther than that. He always displayed a positive attitude. His whole demeanor had an “up” atmosphere about it. He went the extra mile to ensure my spirits stayed up. He constantly reassured me of my rehabilitative progress and eventual discharge. In short, he kept me on the track to recovery, both physically and mentally.” — E.S.
“Doug spent a great deal of time working with my son. The clinic could be busy with patients, regardless, when it came time for my son’s therapy he was never rushed through. He always received very individualized and personalized care. Doug’s expert knowledge and capability in conducting the therapy was always reassuring.”– P.B.
“In 1981 I was diagnosed with a relapsing form of MS. Over the years I have seen several physical therapists that worked with me to prevent me losing ground with the disease. It wasn’t until I began working with Bryan, first as a physical therapist then as a personal trainer, that I was able to make forward progress against symptoms like poor balance and muscle coordination as well as a lack of muscle strength. When I come to Bryan with a physical challenge, he always seems to have a way to work on it.”– C.G.
